Relaxation Breaks
Need a holiday?...I know I do…Come with some like minded
individuals - for a fun
winter break with a little bit of organised TLC thrown in
“…then simply relax and float on the waves, bobbing about
like a piece of driftwood, letting the water take your
weight and washing your stress away….”
"…I had an absolutely fantastic time with you all in Egypt.
... Thank you ever so much for a very happy, special and
enjoyable holiday. It was absolutely first class… I loved
the yoga and meditation … very relaxing”
"…am starting to wish we were here for a fortnight instead
of a week! … the whole experience has had an air of
unintentional co-ordination to it… as if we are getting a
helping hand to ensure nobody is getting stressed out”
“….everything a good holiday should be and more….yoga on the
beach at sunrise…reading our intentions at the turn of the
moon was magical…lots of laughs…no pressure to do anything
at all and I spent quite a few hours alone just reading and
gazing at the sky,.”
"It was such a fantastic holiday, thank you for making it
happen"
in 2007
5 of us organised a week away with no more than a
general idea of rest, relaxation, meditation and maybe some
activity. To do so with a bunch of like minded individuals
to share dinner / outings with when we felt like it. The
actually exceeded the idea by a long shot see

- The Relaxation Break - 2008
The Red Sea Retreat is relaxation personified.
How it was in 2007
The day would go so easily: morning class, then some would
go running or walking, late breakfast then beach – we’d sit
in the same area each day so could always be found. Sun
would start to ease off between 2 and 4 so group members
might shop, take a massage, explore, go to the gym, or do
some therapy, we usually met in the evening 7ish to decide
where to eat. We ate as a group every night with usually 1
or 2 of us taking a rain check when we felt like a “pyjama
night”.
From the Sharm 2007 Newsletter
“…now relaxing in the warmth where the sun is shining - aha
- bliss! The minute I stepped off the plane I could feel the
energy of this country, home, the positive input from the
sea and Ra, the sun, giver of all life.
Sharm is of course a busy and modern tourist resort quite
different from Cairo but the people themselves are
completely engaging to a point that is quite overwhelming in
the first days used as we are to British reserve and even
Scottish dourness (well at this time of the year certainly).
The hotel is lovely - I think I'll be able to hold onto the
nick name given on 2006 spiritual tour: "5 star Vic". Last
night we congregated at the bar taking it all in, got our
bearings then ate at the beach bar - BBQ'd shrimps and rice
for me, bottle of white, medley of easy listening songs in
background, Red Sea on right. We were talking about how
quickly our thoughts were manifesting these days - the
instant karma thing. Our journey had gone so smoothly -
4.55 top of my road, 8.05 car parking, 8.35 Glasgow airport
having missed the 8am queue, quick saunter through security
(honest!) and 10 take off, early arrival straight through,
and literally minutes after touch down we were belly dancing
to a techno Arabic beat while our driver danced the
limo....oops my point was the intention had taken seconds -
in fact I wonder which way round it was - it felt like a
knowing that all would be well and a lengthening or
projecting of that onto the whole trip. Just thought it'd be
good to share experiences of that kinda thing perhaps keep
us / help us all clear on just what it is, how it is, what
it feels like, when we get it right....So now off to make my
jogging route and back to do some yoga and meditation with
the group….”
